University of Vienna Winter School
The 听provides a well-structured introduction to one of the most fascinating periods of Austria's intellectual history in a short time. The culture of the fin-de-si猫cle is one of the highlights in the history of the Habsburg Monarchy.听
The two-week program combines first-class academic courses with an extensive social and cultural program. The high-level lectures in the morning are complemented with excursions to the city and to museums in the afternoon.听Vienna鈥檚 rich cultural heritage, especially the museums, will lead to a thorough understanding of the input of the fin-de-si猫cle on the modernisation of Europe.
The academic course environment encourages intercultural and social exchange and favours mutual understanding within the international student population. Participants thus broaden their horizons, meet colleagues from different fields of study, make friends for life and build connections for their future professional careers.

Credit Equivalent听
8 ECTS听= 2 UQ听Units. Maximum of 2 UQ听Units if 8 ECTS听are successfully completed (pending UQ faculty approval).
Students are required to complete two 4 ECTS courses to receive 2 UQ Units.听Students听can select one course during the early morning session (8:30am 鈥�10:30am) and one during听the late morning session (11:00am 鈥�1:00pm). For further details, please see the听

Eligibility and Application
All applicants must meet the听UQ Short-term experience criteria听and any additional eligibility criteria set by the听.
The听University of Vienna Winter School program is highly competitive and fills up fast, so be sure to get your application in as early as possible.
If you are intending to undertake your experience for credit, it is strongly recommended that you submit your application to the Global Experiences Team at least 4 weeks before applying to the host to allow sufficient time for Faculty to complete the credit assessment. Please note that it is your responsibility to meet the host application deadline.听 Note:听The Winter School has a rolling admission policy and considers applications in the order of their arrival. Since the program can only accept a limited number of students, early application is encouraged.
Cost
The participation mode of this experience is Study Abroad.听
The program fee is 鈧�1,790, approximately $2,920.00 AUD, with an additional Austrian Union fee of 鈧�26.20, approximately $42.70 AUD. Detailed听information regarding fees and inclusions can be found on the .听
Accommodation听
Accommodation is not included in the program fee. The Winter School does not provide accommodation.听 Students are responsible for booking their own accommodation for the duration of the Winter School.听 Refer to the .

Application Deadlines
OS-HELP loan applications open on 5 January each year.
OS-HELP loan applications can鈥檛 be accepted:
- any earlier than 6 months听before the official start date of your overseas study
- any later than听3 months听before the official end date of your overseas study.
