Intern with SQM Technologies

Experience Taiwan's innovation-driven economy while developing technical, analytical and professional skills in a cross-cultural workplace. SQM Technologies offers internships in high-frequency trading research for students from relevant business and STEM disciplines.

This internship provides an opportunity to apply your knowledge in a professional setting while gaining experience in quantitative trading research, financial market data analysis and Taiwan's technology sector.

About the Host Organisation

is a quantitative trading technology company based in Taipei. The company develops and applies advanced mathematical models and financial data analysis to high-frequency trading. It values research, collaboration and continuous learning, providing students with exposure to a professional quantitative trading environment.

Four internship positions are available within the Research Team. All roles are open to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Click the role below to view the position description and eligibility requirements.

Chinese (Mandarin) is not essential but may be considered an advantage for some roles.

PositionRole Summary听

(4 positions)

Support the research team by analysing financial market microstructure data and contributing to the development of quantitative trading models. Responsibilities may include conducting data analysis, assisting with model development using machine learning techniques, and providing analytical support to experienced traders and researchers on live trading strategies.

Application Process

Step 1: Check your eligibility

  • Be actively enrolled in a UQ program and courses
  • Not due to graduate at the end of the semester of application
  • Completion of at least six (6) units at 麻豆传媒高清 in your current UQ program
  • Maintaining a minimum GPA of 4 and a record of steady academic achievement
  • Must meet visa and travel requirements for Taiwan

Step 2: Prepare your application

You will need:

  • Cover letter (maximum one page) outlining your motivation for applying, your learning goals and how you can contribute to the organisation.
  • Current resume
  • Academic transcript

Step 3: Submit your application to UQ
Apply via by听30 August 2026.

Step 4: UQ reviews applications
The UQ Internship Team reviews and shortlists candidates.

Step 5: SQM Technologies conducts interviews
Shortlisted students may be interviewed by SQM Technologies.

Step 6: Register with UQ
Successful students must complete听听for grant eligibility and/or insurance by听30 September 2026.

There is no internship fee to participate in this program.

Students are expected to have sufficient funds to cover travel, accommodation, meals, transport and other living expenses for the full duration of the program.

Student Costs
