Have you ever struggled to explain the value of an experience on a job application or in an interview?

Whether you've volunteered, completed a research project, worked part-time, participated in a student club, or taken part in another Employability Award activity, this workshop will help you communicate your experiences with greater confidence and impact.

In this interactive session, you'll bring a recent experience and learn how to transform it from a reflective SEAL example into a powerful STAR response that showcases your skills, achievements and growth. You'll work through practical activities, receive feedback from your peers, and explore how to connect your experiences to future workplace success.

By attending, you will learn how to:

  • Identify the skills and capabilities developed through your experiences
  • Use the SEAL framework to understand and reflect on your learning
  • Structure clear and impactful STAR examples for applications and interviews
  • Demonstrate the results and impact of your actions
  • Connect your learning to future professional practice and career goals
  • Prepare stronger examples for your Employability Award application and interview

Please come prepared with a recent experience or activity that you would like to use towards your Employability Award.

This workshop is suitable for students at any stage of their Employability Award journey and will be delivered in a hybrid format, allowing students to participate either in person or online.
